Waist Bead Sizing & Fit Guide
Getting the right fit is more important than they style when it comes to waist beads. Here's everything you need to know to measure correctly and choose the perfect strand.
How to Measure Your Waist
Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the area where you want to wear your beads — this could be your natural waist, your belly button, or your hips. Note the measurement in inches. If you don't have a measuring tape, use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler.
Where Do You Want to Wear Them?
- High waist (above the navel)
- Natural waist (at the navel)
- Low waist / hip
How Should They Fit?
Waist beads should sit comfortably without digging in or sliding down. A good rule: you should be able to slip two fingers underneath the strand. They're meant to be worn continuously, so comfort is key.
Tie-On vs. Clasp Styles
Tie-on waist beads are the traditional style — they're knotted at your desired fit and trimmed. Clasp styles are removeable if you don't want the permanence of tie-on waist beads. Browse our Waist Beads collection to find your preferred style.
A Note on Sizing Over Time
Many women use waist beads as a body awareness tool. If the beads hang lower than when you tied them, your waist has slimmed; if they feel tighter, you may have gained inches and or pounds. It's a gentle, non-judgmental way to stay connected to your body and can be more accurate than a scale.
Note: People tend to lose inches faster than actual pounds and waist beads can accurately track that.
